Over 10 years PS2 games
Summary
The PlayStation 2 launched in 2000, with 29 titles available at its US debut. Production continued until 2013, making it one of the longest-produced video game consoles. In early 2011, Sony reported sales of more than 150 million consoles. Some 3800 different titles were released, selling over 1.5 billion copies. Backwards compatibility also gives the PS2 access to its predecessor’s library of more than 2000 titles.
Because not every model of its successor, the PlayStation 3, can run PS2 games, popular titles were reissued in HD or as downloads.
The best-selling games are: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (17 million), Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (14 million), Gran Turismo 4 (11 million), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (9 million), Grand Theft Auto III (7 million) and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (7 million).
