C64 versions
The normal C64 appears in different versions:
- Original C64 (early 1982): First version in beige. Due to the special housing type also called “bread box”. Has orange function keys from the VC-20 used and a silver Commodore nameplate.
- C64-I (mid 1982): Brown function keys, and form the typical 64.
- C64C (1986), also known as C64-II: Flatter case (hence the nickname “wedge”), with revised hardware (smaller motherboard) in a light colour, later also from about 1989 with new SID 8580.
- C64G (ca. 1987): Owns the board of the C64C, but is again in (bright) bread box form, and again easily expandable. With new SID 8580.
- C64 of ALDI (ca. 1988). Model only for the German market, distributed by discounter ALDI, also in bread box form.
