Flops and exotics

The success of the Mega Drive makes it clear that the market dominance of Nintendo is not invulnerable. Many electronics manufacturers take this as an opportunity to develop their own consoles, but for various reasons produce almost exclusively spectacular commercial failures or machines that occupy only one niche space. Hardly any of these consoles is available for more than two years. Today they are largely obscure and have a maximum of small, dedicated fan communities.
