Sony PlayStation 4 Slim

Summary

The PlayStation 4 Slim is an evolution of PlayStation 4 and was released in Europe on September 15, 2016. Sony has updated the design, weight and performance and reduced power consumption by 28%. This results in a power consumption of about 88 watts. A playback of games and movies in 4K is not possible as with the classic PS4.

Sony offers the console with a 500 GB or 1 TB large hard drive. It comes with the DualShock 4 Controller (CUH-ZCT2U). This features grey instead of black analog sticks and triggers, a stronger Bluetooth module, as well as an additional lightbar under the touchpad for a better gaming atmosphere.

The classic PS4 is no longer produced and replaced by the slim version as the new standard version of the PS4.
