Interton - The only German console manufacturer

Founded in 1962, Cologne-based hearing aid manufacturer Interton entered the lucrative electronics business in the 1970s, with calculators, telephone systems, car on-board computers and video game consoles. At first these are the usual pong consoles, later Interton produces two module-based devices.

The technology installed in the consoles is not from Interton, but the design does. Interton is the only German game console manufacturer to date, which has also produced its devices completely in Germany.

Interton withdraws from the electronics business after the video game crash of 1983 and since then produces hearing aids again. In 2005 the company is bought by the GN ReSound Group. In the official company history the episode, in which Interton consoles produced, does not appear.
