Tomy Alien Chase

Summary

The micro-computer Alien Chase by Tomy has a single, multi-colored VFD screen for playing, but it can be viewed from two sides, with the second player’s screen being a mirror of the first. So two players can play together and follow the same game.

In Alien Chase, the aim is to be the first to capture seven hostile aliens and bring them to your base. So you always play competitively against another astronaut, which in single-player mode is taken over by the computer and in two-player mode by the second player. Plays only with the analog joystick. The four other buttons, which are only on one side of the display, are for switching on and off, for the sound, for switching on the second player and for selecting the difficulty level (amateur or professional).

In the same year as Tomy’s Alien Chase, Tandy Radio Shack released an almost exact 1-to-1 copy of this console.
