Apple eMate 300

Summary
Apple developed the eMate 300 for classroom use on the Newton platform. Its robust green case recalls schools and blackboards. The electronics are well protected, even against a spill of lemonade. Nevertheless, at around USD 800 when introduced in 1997, it failed to gain a foothold in cash-strapped schools. Just one year later, in 1998, both the eMate and Newton were withdrawn from the market, shortly after Steve Jobs returned to Apple.
