Tomy Arcade Attack

Summary

Arcade Attack is one of Tomy’s many mini arcade games. In this game, enemy alien ships flying by in the background of the screen are shot down by laser rockets. The shot is triggered at the push of a button and the difficulty is to release the shot at the right moment to hit the ship. A joystick for motion control is not required. A total of ten missiles are available before the game ends.

The number of shots fired as well as the number of hits is counted by the device, so that players are kept informed about the progress of the game. At the same time, a robot voice comments on the event (for example: “Alien destroyed”, or “direct hit”). In addition, the system has some sound effects and animations. Thus, a small flashing explosion is displayed during the destruction of an enemy ship and a corresponding sound is played.
