Next Gen – Model Care and New Generations
The PlayStation 4 Pro (2016) and Xbox One X (2017) are more powerful variants of the PS4 and Xbox One respectively. They stand for model maintenance within an existing platform and use their games library.
Launched in 2020, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S represent a generational change. Model maintenance and generational change shape the development of game consoles.
For an exhibition, these differences offer starting points for comparing technology, playing methods and input devices. The console inventory list shows which devices belong to the collection.
