Sega Dreamcast Karaoke

Summary

With the Dreamcast Karaoke accessory, the Sega Dreamcast console can be upgraded to a Karaoke station. Only the Japanese market is addressed, which is why the box is only available in Japan with Japanese songs. The Dreamcast is plugged into the extension and two microphones can be connected and controlled individually. First, the modem is removed from the Dreamcast, it is connected to the Karaoke unit and later the modem is put back into the Karaoke unit. All this gives a supple whole. With the device come a few songs, but the special feature is that songs could be downloaded. Together with the bundle comes a CD called “Segakara”, which gave access to the “Sega karaoke Service”, from which singers had access to about 5000 songs. Today, the unit is useless, because the server is shut down. Another special feature is the support of the in-house Web-Cam Dreameye with the karaoke system, because the software takes on the singer’s face and puts it on the character shown on the TV.
