Watara SuperVision / Hartung SuperVision

Summary
The SuperVision is a handheld console by Watara, which was launched as a cheap alternative to the Nintendo Game Boy. It appeared in 1992, three years after the advent of the Game Boy at a price of less than 50 USD. Each device included the game of Crystball, an Arkanoid clone. The console was never popular and so the production only ran from 1992 to 1996. The SuperVision is even superior to the Game Boy in some points: not only the resolution is larger with 160 x 160 pixels than that of the Nintendo Game Boy (Classic) (160 x 144 pixels), but also the LCD display is a little larger. The buttons are also larger and further apart.
There are different versions of the Supervision. The first version is very visually reminiscent of the Game Boy, the second has a bendable screen (in the collection). As in the Nintendo template, accessories such as a link cable or TV adapter are available. In order to be successful in other countries, Watara gave marketing and distribution to other companies, such as Hartung Spiele Berlin in Germany (device also in the collection).
