Atari Touch Me

Summary
Atari’s arcade game Touch Me appeared in 1974. Players press four buttons in a specified sequence, which grows by one button after each successful round. Three mistakes are allowed before the game ends. In 1977, Ralph Baer adapted the idea into a small electronic game with sound and coloured buttons, named Simon, which sold very well. Atari responded in 1978 with the Atari Touch Me handheld. Compared with Simon, it offers three different games. In the second, players extend the sequence themselves by choosing any button. The third is for two to four players: each chooses a colour and presses its button when it lights up.
