Commodore Paddles (1312)

Summary
In the early 80s, Commodore released a pair of analogue paddles, model 1312, for the VC20, C64 and C128. Paddles were among the earliest input devices. While a digital joystick registers only a click in each of 4 directions, an internal potentiometer converts rotation of the knob into values between 0 and 255, rather than simply 0 and 1. The 1312 paddles also have a fire button. Their applications were limited, and few games used them. Racing games that require steering left and right, however, work well with paddles.
