Date (Date Electronics) and Action Replay
Datel, formerly Datel Electronics, is a British manufacturer of computer and console accessories best known for Action Replay. Its cheat cartridges let players gain unlimited lives or money, move to other locations, freeze game states and more. Its accessories repeatedly brought it close to legal boundaries: early illegal radio receivers were followed by several court disputes, particularly with Sony. The business was profitable, however, and The Sunday Times ranked founder Mike Connors among Britain’s 1000 richest people.
