Commodore C65

Summary
The C65 documents a Commodore development project that never became a regular production model. The surviving system documentation uses the names C64DX and C65.
The example in the collection is an incomplete prototype. According to Christian Ullenboom, key chips are missing, leaving the machine non-functional. Its value as an exhibit lies in the development history that an object like this can illustrate.
An object from the development process
This example illustrates the distinction between design, testing and a production model. The general system documentation describes the project; the information about missing components refers to the particular example being offered.
