Fairchild Channel F

Summary
The Fairchild Channel F is the first real module-based console. Unlike previous consoles, which also already use modules, Channel F has an internal processor instead of delivering it to a new module every time. This processor, the Fairchild F8, is also strong enough for the first time to allow a game against a computer opponent. Another innovation of the system is a pause function.
The Channel F is distributed internationally under a variety of names. In Germany it appears as Saba Videoplay, as ITT Telematch Processor and as Nordmende Color Teleplay. Between 1976 and 1981, only 26 modules are produced, some of which contain several games, as well as a chess game developed by Saba and exclusively available in Germany.
