Family Computer Robot

Summary
After the big video game crash Nintendo is looking with the Famicom for ever new possibilities of marketing video games. To avoid associations with the old, failed video game systems, Nintendo combines his console with more classic toys. One of the most important accessories is the Robotic Operating Buddy (R.O.B.), called in Japan Family Computer Robot. R.O.B. knows six different commands, which can be activated by color light signals on the TV screen. There appear a total of only two different games for R.O.B. In the puzzle game Gyromite players must collect dynamite before the time runs out. The other game Stack-Up comes with additional hardware that can stack different color stones on the screen exactly as the robot indicates. Due to the short sales range of the robot series, Stack-Up is one of the most popular collectibles of the NES time.
