External floppy disk drive FD-1, DDI-1 (Disk Drive Interface)

Summary

The FD-1 is an external floppy disk drive for the CPC664 and the CPC6128. To connect the FD-1 to an older CPC464, an adapter, the DDI-1 (for Disk Drive Interface), is used as the CPC464 does not have a Floppy Disc Controller.

The floppy has only one read/write head and can therefore read and write media only one side. You have to turn the floppy disks to use 180 KiB twice.
