Optec SS Pro Commander Controller Sega Saturn

Summary

The SS Pro Commander is a programmable controller for the Sega Saturn console from Optec. (The product was only brought to the Japanese market and would certainly not have appeared in Germany with this title.) First, the controller offers the same buttons as an original Sega Control Pad: A circular D-pad and 6 buttons X, Y, Z, A, B, C, as well as a start button and top right and left fire buttons. Due to the programmability of the controller, additional buttons are added: SLOW, MODE, SELECT (MAIN/SUB) join the PLAY button and to the left of the A, B, C series there is another button C0. After recording, players can read their programmed motion patterns on the display and play them as often as they like during the game. The labels SLOW, PLAY, EDIT, TEACH, STEP, TIME, COPY, DEL always show the current mode.

In order for the SS Commander to remember something, small memory cards can be introduced (Pro Commander Extended Memory Pack, MEM-1-SS) allowing players to record and exchange movements.
