Summary

Sega is disappointed with the performance of the master system on the American market. When the Mega Drive was introduced in the USA in 1990, it was decided to take over the distribution itself. In the course of this, the Master System II also appears.

In addition to the visual redesign, some features of the original model are missing for cost reasons: The Master System II has no reset button anymore and no LED indicating that the device is switched on. The already hardly used card slot is missing, the never used expansion slot of the first master system is also missing.

Unlike the NES, the Master System II was sold without a bundled cartridge. However, Alex Kidd in Miracle World is built into the console.
