Tatung Einstein 256

Summary
Taiwanese company Tatung had the Einstein (TC-01) home computer developed and built in England in 1984. It has a 4 MHz Z80A, 64 KB RAM and a built-in 3-inch floppy drive, primarily targeting small businesses. Expensive at £499, it sold poorly but became a favourite of game developers. Software companies used its reliability and ample memory to write games that they then ported to the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64.
The Einstein 256 of 1985 is a revised version in a flatter black case. It gains the Yamaha V9938 graphics chip, also used in MSX2 computers and capable of displaying 512 colours, plus 192 KB video RAM alongside 64 KB working memory.
