Thomson MO5

Summary
The MO5 appears in June 1984 as a cheap home computer of the French electronics company Thomson, the introductory price being 2390 francs. Inside, a Motorola 6809E works with 1 MHz. Of the 48 KiB RAM, the image memory is 16 KiB, 32 KiB remain for programs. The graphic shows 320 × 200 pixels in 16 colors, with eight adjacent pixels each sharing only two colors.
The MO5 is known for its Informatique pour tous plan, which is used by the French government to bring computers to the country’s schools. Outside France, however, he hardly sells himself. For abroad, Thomson introduced the MO5 E in 1985, with parallel interface, two joystick connectors, built-in PAL modulator and power supply and better sound. In addition to the MO5, the collection also has a MO5 E and two copies of the special white edition MO5 Michel Platini.
The keyboard in AZERTY has 58 keys that additionally carry BASIC commands such as PRINT, LIST or RUN. The cartridge slot and the INITIAL PROG button, which restarts the computer, sit on the top left of the housing.
