Nintendo Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable (GTC-005)

Summary

Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable (AGB-005) connects up to four Game Boy Advance consoles for multiplayer games. This includes the Game Boy Advance SP and Game Boy Player as well as the Game Boy Advance. A logo on the packaging indicates multiplayer support, although relatively few games offer it.

The cable first connects two consoles, but in the middle is a small hub to which another AGB-005 cable can be connected. This involves a third device, and since the second cable in turn has a hub, a third cable brings a fourth device into the round. The fact that three cables are necessary for a 4-player operation has required third-party manufacturers to bring alternative connection systems to the market, which directly connect several handhelds. With the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter, Nintendo offers its own choice: the adapter is plugged onto each device and data exchange and games are possible in a private wireless network.
