Philips Videopac+ G7400

Summary
Philips seamlessly transforms the transition between Philips Videopac G7000 and the successor model G7400. The new console has more up-to-date graphics features, but is fully backward compatible, and modules that are produced specifically for the G7400 appear with the same continuous numbering as before for the G7000. Some modules are running on both consoles, but offer better graphics on the G7400.
Due to the great success of the G7000, the G7400 is first released in Europe, but at the same time as the video game crash. It is therefore only available in limited quantities; in the USA, where the console is supposed to be called Odyssey3 Command Center, it no longer appears at all, only about 15 prototypes are known.
These are not, like the European model, equipped with a membrane keyboard, but with a mechanical keyboard, which would make working on an Odyssey3 easier and would have brought the console further closer to a home computer.
