Romscanner Command Center

Summary

The Romscanner Command Center is just one of several similar systems that make it unnecessary to switch modules in the Atari 2600. Several modules are plugged into such ROM benches and can be selected at the touch of a button.

Theoretically ROM benches protected the contacts of the modules, because they no longer have to be plugged in and out. In fact, however, Atari modules are very robust and can withstand this stress.

There is hardly any time saving either, as changing a module takes only seconds. Therefore, the Romscanner Command Center (and comparable products) does not offer real added value.
