ZAPiT Game Wave Family Entertainment

Summary

In addition to the large consoles of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, some niche products, such as the Game Wave Family Entertainment System, appear in the seventh generation. The Canadian company ZAPiT Games is founded specifically for the production of this console with the aim of bringing a family-oriented system to the market, which is clearly different from the usual video game consoles. Since Game Wave is aimed at children, as well as casual and non-players, the games are rather simple. The underlying technology of the console is rather weak. Most of the games are adaptations of board, card, or guess games. The Game Wave has a DVD player, so that the games are played by interactive DVDs. To underline the family concept, up to six players (with six different controllers) can play simultaneously.
