Commodore C64 Games System

Summary
The Commodore C64 Games System (C64GS), which only appeared in Europe, was an attempt to market the Commodore 64 (C64, bread box) as a game console in a compact housing, although technically outdated at the time of its release.
The C64GS was offered at the same price as a C64, but since the C64 also has a module shaft and is fully compatible with the console software, there was no reason for new customers to choose a C64GS. In addition, when the C64GS was released, countless C64 games already existed as modules, but the console can only use a fraction of it, since many games at least at some point depend on a keyboard command and are therefore unplayable on the C64GS. These conceptual weaknesses made the system a catastrophic failure for Commodore. It’s very rare today.
