Hanimex HMG 2650, Schmid TVG 2000, Intercord XL 2000

Summary
Emerson Radio Corp. launched the Arcadia 2001 in the USA in 1982, using Signetics’ 2650A and 2637 chips. It was affordable and successful, establishing a cartridge format adopted by other manufacturers as the Arcadia 2001 console family. Members include the Hanimex HMG 2650 and Schmid Electronics’ Schmid TVG 2000, both in the collection, and Intercord’s Tele-Computer XL 2000. After the boom had ended, Tchibo GmbH still sold its Tchibo Tele-Fever in Germany in 1986 for 99 DM; this too is represented in the collection.
All Arcadia 2001 compatible consoles use the 2650A chip from Signetics, which is also used by the German Interton Electronic VC 4000 console. However, the Interton audio/video chip is a Signetics 2636 instead of the Signetics 2637 (i.e. a predecessor), and the consoles of the Interton family are not module compatible with the Arcadia family.
