Microsoft Xbox One

Summary
The third console of the Xbox family is Xbox One. The name aims at the “all-in-one” function of the console, meaning a holistic entertainment system that not only includes the tasks of an ordinary video game console, but also the ability to transmit digital media over a network. In particular, the second generation of Kinect hardware (Kinect 2.0) is an important component of Microsoft’s philosophy when the console appears. This allows the console to be controlled by voice commands and motion detection.
Microsoft faced criticism over its planned restrictions on used Xbox One games (DRM), a proposed always-online requirement and the potential for monitoring users through the Kinect camera. Before the console was released, Microsoft decided to abandon these plans and make Kinect use optional.
