Commodore Amiga 3000

Summary
Commodore manufactures the Amiga 3000 between June 1990 and 1992, which represents a complete new development towards a high-end graphics workstation. The model designations are Amiga 3000 (desktop housing) and Amiga 3000T (tower housing). As a target group Commodore had companies and professional users in mind. There is also the Amiga 3000UX, a desktop version with the Unix operating system AMIX.
As a CPU Commodore installs a Motorola 68030 processor and customers can choose between 16 MHz and 25 MHz. From factory, a SCSI controller and four Zorro III slots are installed. Buyers can choose between a 40, 50 or 100 MiB large 3.5-inch SCSI hard drive.
Despite the many positive properties, the computer is not widely used. This is due to the high price of 3379 USD and on the other hand to kickstart 1.3 and 2.x, which is not compatible with many application programs.
