Sega Mark III

Summary
The Mark III is the final version of the SG-1000. Sega improves the hardware to make the console stronger than the market leader, Nintendo’s Famicom.
The Mark III, like its two predecessors, is not a decisive commercial success, which is not due to the technology, but to Nintendo’s monopolistic licensing policy. Most developers are bound by the Famicom, which restricts the game selection for the Mark III.
Nevertheless, the device is competitive enough to publish it in the West. It appears there the following year under the name Sega Master System.
