Apple II

Summary
On 10 June 1977, Apple launched a new generation of home computers with the Apple II. It was supplied as an assembled product rather than a kit.
Like its predecessor, a 6502 processor is used, clocked to 1.023 MHz. With the memory equipment of 4 KiB RAM, the selling price was 1298 USD, with 48 KiB RAM 2638 USD.
The ROM contains a BASIC interpreter. Using an audio interface, programs can be loaded and read, Apple also sold a 5.25-disk drive with 140 KiB media. 8 internal slots take up cards. The video controller shows the output in color, which is why the Apple logo was drawn in the colors of the rainbow — the logo remained until the beginning of 1998.
After the first model, Apple further developed the series: Apple II Plus (June 1979) Apple IIe (January 1983), Apple IIc (April 1984), Apple IIGS (September 1986), Apple IIc Plus (1988). Production ended in 1993; between five and six million Apple II were sold altogether.
