Nintendo GameCube

Summary
After Nintendo remained the last manufacturer to use cartridges with the N64, it adopted DVDs for the GameCube. Unlike the XBox and PS2, however, the GameCube cannot play DVD films: Nintendo chose smaller Mini-DVDs as an anti-piracy measure, accepting the resulting competitive disadvantage.
The Panasonic Q, on the other hand, a licensed version of the GameCube, is a full-fledged DVD player in a striking, reflective case. In addition to this special and not widely used version, there are also different special editions from the GameCube, which are technically not different, but have a different color scheme.
The Game Boy Player attachment allows the GameCube to play cartridges for Nintendo’s then-current Game Boy Advance.
GameCube sales were roughly on a par with the Xbox, but only a fraction of PS2 sales. A total of 660 games were released.
